In 1991, Professional Data Systems, Inc. began development of our ProTrac Software. The market for the product was the small to mid-sized distributors who needed all of the power of the larger wholesalers, without the financial resources.

We selected the Windows™ Operating System from Microsoft. For our 4th Generation Relational Data Base we selected Progress, (www.Progress.com) out of Boston, Mass. Our development and our ongoing support were based on providing distribution software that was Sold, Installed, and Supported as Serious Software for a Reasonable Price. Our founder, Charlie Barr was committed to this concept and today it is still our standard bearer.
